Ford recently announced that they will be introducing an all-electric version of the Ford Transit van to market starting in 2022. The new electric Transit will be available in the United States and Canada, with the goal of helping businesses become sustainable, lower ownership costs and improve air quality and noise levels in cities.
Ford has been the leader in the commercial van segment for 35 years with the popular E-Series, Transit and Transit Connect cargo vans that help businesses get work done. Purchasing a new all-electric Transit van will give buyers access to Ford’s incredible service network, upfitting services and the largest public charging network in North America.
Built in the United States, the new all-electric Ford Transit is part of Ford’s $11.5 billion investment in electric vehicles. It joins the already announced Ford F-150 and Mustang Mach-E vehicles that are also coming to dealers soon.
Like currently available Ford Commercial Vehicles, the all-electric Ford Transit vans will feature the technology businesses need to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. Ford Telematics, Ford PassConnect with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and Ford Data Service tools are also integrated, providing more information on the go and remotely.
